The lawsuit brought against the Town of Bridgewater by the Regional School District 12 Board of Education is still under the Judge’s consideration. We hope to have some news to share with you soon regarding his decision. Burnham School Lease negotiations are well underway. Our goal is to ensure that our building is returned to good condition by completing a list of repairs currently necessary and that in the future the building is properly maintained with monies set aside every year. We should be able to accomplish an agreement within the month. Work on the Senior Center is progressing. The building is enclosed and work inside has begun. We hope to be finished in about three months, celebrating with a Grand Opening Ceremony when it is completed. More details will be announced when the plans are set. The Board of Selectmen voted to enclose the Horse Ring at the Recreation center with wire fencing to enable residents of Bridgewater to exercise their dogs inside it. Please make sure you clean up after your pet while using this new facility. Doggie bags will soon be provided, until then, please bring your own. The Town of Bridgewater has several Boards and Committees with vacancies. Volunteers are becoming harder to find and a few people have been left with too much to do. Please consider volunteering to serve on a Board or Committee. The Town of Bridgewater relies on its residents as invaluable resources in shaping the community now and in planning for the future. |
